Cultivation Info & Resources How to Install Plug Spawn

Wooden dowels laced with mushroom mycelium used to grow mushrooms on logs outdoors.

These plugs are ready for you to install into recently cut hardwood logs logs.

Predrill the logs and hammer the plugs into them, so they are flush and then seal them up with wax. Leave the logs on the ground in the shade and forget about them! Next year or so, you'll see your first mushroom flush, but then they return yearly. Becoming perrenial and establishing a permaculture mushroom garden.

This easy-to-grow edible lives terrestrially in wood chip patches or beds. The King Stropharia can be applied to garden landscapes that use wood chips, straw, or composted methods as weed prevention.

The King Stropharia helps with water retention, erosion reduction and building up soil compositions. New studies are showing that growing this mushroom close to bee hives aid in the Bee natural defense against viruses and mites.

We love this mushroom, its easy to grow and if planted early in the growing year, you could see fruitings later that same year.
